Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Shining a spotlight on NTT DATA in Ireland

Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona duit! Or Happy St. Patrick’s Day to those less familiar with Gaelic!

Growing up, the ‘Apostle of Ireland’ was an ever-present figure in my life. I was born and bred in the market town of Downpatrick, which just so happens to be where St. Patrick is said to be buried. Even the school I attended was named after him.

On the 17th of March, communities around the world dye the rivers green, wear shamrocks and celebrate with a pint (or three) of Guinness. Whilst celebrations may be a little more restrained again this year, it remains a joyous occasion for all those associated with the Emerald Isle.

This year, I wanted to mark the occasion by celebrating what we have achieved as NTT DATA in Ireland. Whilst we’ve been operating in the country for over a decade, the past 3 years has seen our hard work begin to reap it’s just rewards. We’ve achieved growth of 150% over the period and have tripled the number of clients we work with. These include some of Ireland’s biggest companies, one of which is mobile and broadband telecommunications company Eir.

Our ability to make such progress is down to a number of factors. We have a history of delivering quality for our clients, which has enabled us to forge strong relationships that form the foundation of our present and future business. We are practical in our innovation, and our advisory and strategy services produce explainable and actionable insights that are practical for the client to execute on.

Part of what helps us stand out from the crowd in Ireland is our ability to combine the support of the global NTT network with the attention and intimacy of a local company. Both now and in the future, we’re keen to work as one NTT, bringing in other offerings and services when we know it can benefit our client. This was the case with our work with Virgin Media. By bringing in expertise from NTT DATA Services, we were able to build capability for the client in Limerick and achieve results that all parties were happy with.

Looking to the future

We have every right to be proud of what we’ve achieved in Ireland over the past decade, and optimistic about the future. The prospect of doubling our business in 2021 and breaking into the vibrant tech sector are reasons for great excitement. Ireland has long been home to the headquarters of some of the biggest names in the technology industry. In addition to the likes of Facebook and Twitter, the country is attracting a number of innovative and disruptive companies, covering a wide variety of products and services. Ranging from digital platform companies such as Fitbit and Udemy through to more tech manufacturing focused organisations such as Cisco and NEC, the opportunities are as diverse as they are numerous.

Our accomplishments have only been possible thanks to the great teamwork and dedication shown by our team in Ireland. With over 1,000 employees working to provide solutions for 130 clients, we have every reason to look to the future with optimism.

Thank you to everyone who has made the past decade such a success, and a very happy St. Patrick’s Day from everyone at NTT DATA. To coin a phrase, with the ’Luck of the Irish’ behind us, I’m sure the success of Team Ireland will continue long into the future.

Sláinte!
