London, 13 September 2023 – NTT DATA UK&I, a leading IT services provider and consultancy for the telco industry, has recently appointed Massimo Fatato as the company’s new Head of Networks. The appointment demonstrates NTT DATA’s continued investment into strengthening its telco business, with Massimo heading up work in OSS Transformation, Telco Cloud and public and private 5G network areas.
Massimo joins NTT DATA with a wealth of experience and knowledge, thanks to a career spanning more than 30 years in the telecoms industry. Massimo’s career began as a Systems Engineer at Telecom Italia where he led the design of its OSS, which was one of the first European carrier deployments, before moving on to Nortel where he started as a System Engineer and rose through to ranks to become an Account Director.
Prior to joining NTT DATA, Massimo worked for HPE, running its partner organisation for the Telco Business Unit in EMEA, General Manager for HPE OSS Business Unit and Sales Director for HPE Network BU in EMEA, where he facilitated the launch of a Network as a Service offering for telecom service providers, and devised and executed the Next-Gen OSS and Orchestration strategy for HPE.
Massimo will be responsible for leading NTT DATA’s efforts to grow its telco business in the UK. Amidst the ever-evolving technological landscape, the telco industry finds itself standing at the precipice of opportunity, and Massimo will be putting services at clients’ disposal and using his deep industry knowledge to address their challenges in areas including 5G monetisation, OSS transformation and the cloudification of network infrastructure and operations. With network technologies including private 5G and expansive cloud infrastructure holding immense potential, but the journey to full optimisation and maximal monetisation of these technologies remails a path yet to be fully traversed, this new hire happens at a critical time for NTT DATA and its clients.
