- NTT DATA launches the first Innovation Hub based entirely on Microsoft technology, within the NTT DATA Living Lab, its innovation centre and co-creation space in Barcelona.
- The centre is committed to the development of confidential hybrid cloud solutions, which meet the data sovereignty and residency needs of public administrations and regulated companies, in compliance with the most demanding legal and technical requirements.
- The new hub will also provide services for its customers to achieve goals such as reducing operational costs of their tools or improving sustainability through the Application Migration and Modernisation Factory to the Microsoft Azure cloud.
Microsoft and NTT DATA, the world's sixth-largest IT services company, are advancing their strategic collaboration to provide confidential hybrid cloud solutions and services to migrate and optimise IT resources to the Microsoft cloud. In doing so, they provide both the public and private sectors with state-of-the-art solutions to move towards a secure, efficient and personalised digital transformation.
Both companies have been working hand in hand for years to achieve synergies that allow them to accelerate their joint work across all areas. This will reduce the time to market for the wide variety of solutions that both companies have developed to help their customers.
The Microsoft Innovation Hub represents the next step in this collaboration. Located in the NTT DATA Living Lab in Barcelona, the Innovation Hub receives more than 1,000 visits annually and was conceived as an ideas lab to promote innovation through co-creation with employees, customers, technology partners and the entrepreneurial and academic ecosystems.
The centre, a flagship within the Group, becomes a catalyst for the long-standing synergies between NTT DATA and Microsoft, reinforcing the common strategies that the two organisations have built over the last few years.
In this context, Alberto Granados, President of Microsoft Spain, and Sergi Biosca, CEO of NTT DATA Spain, have visited the NTT DATA Living Lab, to kick off this new Microsoft cloud technologies innovation hub.
"NTT DATA is one of our main partners when it comes to executing our customers' digital transformation projects," explains Alberto Granados, president of Microsoft Spain. "With this agreement, we want to drive innovation and digitalisation, guaranteeing security, privacy and data sovereignty," he adds.
Sergi Biosca, CEO of NTT DATA Spain said; "Digitalisation and technology transformation have accelerated significantly over the last year. Cloud adoption and the modernisation of data and application architectures are key drivers of change and our partnership with Microsoft enables us to provide our customers with state-of-the-art solutions to support them in this process and help them achieve their business goals." Biosca added, "The partnership with Microsoft is based on strong shared values such as the importance of talent, security, sustainability and a joint determination to invest in the Spanish market”.
A space available to private companies and public administrations.
The objective of the Microsoft Innovation Hub is to become an essential pillar of the common strategy of both companies, applying high-impact solutions such as the Application Migration and Modernisation Factory to Azure or the development of specific confidential hybrid cloud solutions for public administrations.
NTT DATA is Microsoft's strategic partner in the field of Application Modernisation for the new Cloud region in Spain. This is materialised in the Application Migration and Modernisation Factory to Azure, whose implementation seeks to foster the confidence of those common customers who embrace the process of updating and modernising their business applications. This is an innovative service that takes migration to the cloud one step further, through an exhaustive optimisation of business applications to make the most of the benefits offered by the cloud, respond to new needs in all industry sectors, reduce operating costs and limit their environmental footprint, among others.
In parallel, the development of specific confidential hybrid cloud solutions for public administrations includes a series of joint initiatives aimed at meeting their needs - as well as those of companies in regulated sectors - in terms of data residency and sovereignty. This is made possible by Azure's encryption in transit and at rest plus Microsoft's Azure Confidential Computing technology, which enables encryption of data in use, and NTT DATA's management and security services. In this way, both organisations can supply services that provide maximum guarantees to their customers in data management and compliance with the most demanding legal and technical requirements.
