Summary
Gestamp chose NTT DATA to modernize their workforce management by transitioning them to a global HR platform that consolidates processes, data and compliance across 21 countries. In just nine months, the solution was deployed across the organization in one go-live event, providing an integrated view of over 45,000 employees and improving operational efficiency. The centralized platform provides a global view of talent, improves transparency and supports strategic decision-making.
Business need
Creating a scalable, people-centric global HR model
Gestamp operated in a highly complex and decentralized environment, making effective workforce management challenging.
The company grew rapidly, acquiring more than 200 companies in just 10 years. This left Gestamp with a patchwork of local HR systems and different processes, making it difficult to get a clear overview of all their people. Limited visibility into employee performance, skills, experience and compensation were becoming a barrier to strategic talent planning.
In addition, the company operated in 17 languages and must follow the strict labor regulations in each country where they operate, adding complexity to time tracking, payroll and compliance. To move forward, Gestamp needed a single global framework to support a more agile, scalable and people-centric talent management model.
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central is at the heart of talent management at Gestamp. Having a single source of employee data allows us to unlock the full potential of our talent solutions and help our people thrive.”
Solution
Delivering a centralized talent platform in just nine months
As a long-standing SAP customer, Gestamp had already started modernizing their HR with modules such as SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting, Onboarding, Succession & Development and Performance & Goals. The next step was to bring everything together by integrating these modules with a single source of employee data using SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central.
Working with NTT DATA, Gestamp undertook an ambitious, nine-month implementation using a “big bang” approach, rolling the solution out across the entire organization at once. The new centralized platform provides a global view of their workforce, increases transparency and supports strategic decision-making.
Our goal is to further enhance the employee experience by capturing and tracking motivation and skills throughout the talent journey. This will promote internal mobility and support the development of the capabilities we need to grow.”
