NTT DATA with Show Cases around autonomous driving at Automotive IT Congress

At this year's Automotive IT Congress on 21 March in Berlin, NTT and its subsidiaries NTT DATA and NTT Security will present the new Vehicle Security Operation Center (V-SOC), which is designed to protect autonomous vehicles from hacker attacks. On behalf of automobile manufacturers, the communication data of millions of vehicles will be analyzed, e.g. with regard to the manipulation of the data stream when the brakes or airbags are activated. If the platform developed by NTT Security detects a potential threat, the affected vehicle can be isolated from the fleet and repaired, for example, by installing software updates. At the NTT booth, visitors can experience what such an attack looks like and how it can be repaired by the V-SOC.

In addition to the V-SOC, NTT and NTT DATA will present further use cases at the Automotive IT Congress. These include the virtual configuration of vehicles using a hololens as well as the gesture control of vehicles. Here visitors can get to know the software which helps record gestures and later use them for commands for autonomous vehicles. This is necessary, for vehicles to react to pedestrians or other road users. At the stand, visitors can experience how different gestures are used for certain functions and what challenges gesture recognition poses if, for example, there are different international gestures for one message.

In addition, visitors to the "Future Mobility - a Technology Foresight Workshop" can use interactive methods such as Future User, Janus Cone or LEGO® Serious Play® to develop solutions for the mobility of the future.

"Being successful meant building the best cars in the world for a long time. Today it means thinking connected and developing mobility services that inspire your customers," says Jens-Uwe Holz, Managing Director & EMEA Lead for Automotive at NTT DATA Germany. "With our Show Cases we give interested visitors insights into some of the most exciting opportunities and challenges of future mobility. Without a doubt, this includes autonomous driving, but also security and safety, for which NTT develops highly complex technological solutions.”

The 11th Automotive IT Congress will take place on 21 March at the WECC in Berlin. NTT is represented with international experts around the topic autonomous driving as well as future mobility concepts.
