If tech can succeed in the UK, it can succeed anywhere

4 June 2018 – LONDON, UK – This week, NTT DATA UK CEO Simon Williams attended a government-led roundtable hosted by Theresa May as part of London Tech Week.

Following the announcement of over £2bn in funding, the creation of new jobs and a visa scheme to enhance the UK tech landscape, the Prime Minister invited along a variety of cutting-edge companies, including NTT DATA, to showcase Britain as the best place in the world to run a tech company and to drive inward investment in key sectors.

NTT DATA is investing in a new state-of-the-art premises and Innovation Centre, creating hundreds of jobs over the next three years, complemented by the Prime Minister’s new plans which will offer companies greater access to talent and data.

Simon Williams, CEO at NTT DATA UK, commented: “Coming in London Tech Week, the Department for International Trade’s announcement shines an important light on the UK technology sector and the incredible talent emerging across the industry.

“NTT DATA has a proud history of investment and innovation in the UK, which is one of the most competitive markets in the world; companies, like NTT DATA, recognise that by investing and succeeding in the UK, we are in a very strong position to succeed in other markets around the world,” he continued.

As part of our continued commitment to the UK we are investing in projects ranging from the launch of our new offices and innovation centre in Shoreditch, the acquisition of DevOps experts Magentys, and our continued involvement with technology startups as part of our annual Open Innovation process. These projects represent over £8m of direct investment and are expected to create over 400 jobs in London.

This investment underpins our strong growth in the UK, and we expect to grow by 20% again this year, recruiting another 350 people and launching a Manufacturing, Automotive and Services business to bring our trusted global expertise to these critical sectors of UK industry.”
