NTT DATA appointed by Telefónica UK Limited to transformative quality and testing partnership

In-depth testing and quality across Telefónica UK Limited will enhance customer experience

London, UK – 30th November 2016– NTT DATA UK Ltd, today announced a new transformative quality and testing partnership with Telefónica UK Limited. This elevates NTT DATA’s existing relationship with Telefónica UK Limited to the role of ‘quality guardian’. It will raise the overall quality of IT service delivery, enhancing customer experience through improved quality and reliability.

The appointment cements NTT DATA’s role as a trusted partner directly invested in Telefónica UK Limited’s success. The deal is based on an innovative ‘risk and reward’ business model, whereby the value of the partnership is directly linked to the CIO’s objectives such as lowering the total cost of ownership (TCO) and improving the time to market for products and services.

Telecoms network operators face the prospect of lost revenue when major service failures manifest and compromise the customer experience. This can take the form of lost revenue from unbilled activity and refunds, through to increased churn. NTT DATA has a long track record of helping network operators transform their businesses and deliver a fantastic customer experience.

“Putting the customer first is at the forefront of Telefónica UK’s business. Key to that is ensuring the availability and consistency of our networks and services. We work to deliver 99.9 per cent systems availability to our 25 million customers with continuous improvement and quality of service key to delivering that goal,” said Brendan O’Rourke, CIO of Telefónica UK Limited. “With NTT DATA as our quality guardian we are well placed to deliver on our promise of providing a great experience to our customers.”

NTT DATA believes, and analysts at Gartner have noted, that the delivery of application testing services has undergone immense change with the rise of digital business. Increasingly, CIOs are looking to external trusted partners to be accountable for business and eco-system assurance. “We are proud and excited to continue our journey with Telefónica UK Limited. This progressive partnership will bring our people closer together, to make a real difference to Telefónica UK Limited and their customers,” said Nick Smith, client partner at NTT DATA.
